Fear

I like animals…I really do. Okay, I like MOST animals. Let me break this down.

I like dogs.

After seeing Happy Feet, I kinda like penguins too ( so long as they can tap dance)

The one’s I don’t like are the one’s that are the killer variety. You know, like the sharks for instance – since I was small Jaws has mortified me, I really wish sharks…cough…water welling up in the eyes…didn’t exist. (Yeah, I said it - all you “Shark” fanatics, you are all crra-ay-zee). I think sharks are as terrifying (ok maybe a wee bit less) compared to the stories of the paranormal kinds! Worst fears of my life.

I run miles away (mentally) from anything ‘paranormal’ in definition, even a hint of it, I can evaporate! Unfortunately Hollywood has used so many animals and birds and cats and bats and stuff in its ‘scary’ movies, that now I am not only severely allergic to ghosts, spirits, in a throat closes, eyes swell shut, heart stops beating , turn into a zombie kind of way, but am also scared of bats, cats, roaches, and what have you! Its safe to assume this is a no go zone for me. Never can be.

Other than that, as long as a pet isn’t rubbing its butt on me, and your bird isn’t pooping on me or trying to peck my eyeballs out, I can deal with most animals…

My fear is the water. Since childhood. Have not been able to come to grips with it yet....

Most fears get lodged at childhood. To coerce a child into submission we say ghost, scary some such....and tats how....paranormal becomes sticky.

I try to overcome my worst fears by acknowledging my fears and then tryin to do things again n again. So now I can swim well, drive well, talk to audiences from stage, fight with monkeys, and even lizards don't scare me to nuts these days

Hey my thinking is slightly different - Fear is a vital response to physical and emotional danger — if we couldn't feel it, we couldn't protect ourselves from legitimate threats. So Fear is not bad at all.

Many fears are caused by ignorance because we are scared of what we dont know. When our brain is given limited information, it tends to fill in the rest of info itself. Thereby giving birth to Fear.

Yes. Same goes for me too. Hate these ghostly mentions< I find myself blocking my ears if anyone speaks about it as much. But then strangely i discovered that guys who pretend to be macho and courageous are equally scared of it. And that was a revelation lol

@Shweta: Just an observation, lately I see many young Indian parents putting their toddlers to swim in the pool. A heartening sight indeed. Cause the fear of water happens, once the bran starts rationalizing too much. If in early years the baby learns to love water, thr can be no fear of water:)

Hope u aren't afraid of Dogs . They are the best thing that can happen with some1.
Coming Fear its a feeling that's very close to us. Its kinda universal too. Just like death is evident so is fear. Some of them are just light and some are way too scary and some are way too hard to handle. But somewhere deep down we are the only ones that cling onto them...
